Notes

  • At or above the ceiling, the all-in cost is BZD 52 a week combined — about BZD 2,704 a year between both parties, modest against the salary it covers.
  • The current structure — 10% rate and BZD 520 ceiling — took effect on 4 April 2022 — moving from 9% on a BZD 480 ceiling — and still applies in 2026.
  • There is no separate health levy from pay; social security benefits and public services cover the ground the contribution funds.
  • The band split is now pinned to the official schedule: employee shares run 1.88% to 4.50% by wage band, employer 8.13% down to 5.50% — the employer always pays more.

What is the most social security can cost me?

Insurable earnings stop at BZD 520 a week, so contributions top out at BZD 52 a week combined — BZD 23.40 from you (4.50%) and BZD 28.60 from your employer at the top band.

Do older workers keep contributing?

Only the employer pays for staff aged 65 plus — a flat BZD 2.60 a week — and the same applies for 60- to 64-year-olds already drawing the retirement benefit.
